    Learn to windsurf In Minnesota today! If you’ve ever wanted to learn to windsurf you have come to the right place. Whatever your windsurfing level, the MN Surf Co has a lesson just right for you. We teach windsurfing lessons in Minneapolis and in the Brainerd Lakes Area.  Our instructors teach the latest techniques, honed through years of experience, to help you master your windsurfing skills at every level. The lakes throughout Minnesota can be the perfect place to learn to windsurf. Whether you are a beginner windsurfer or advanced, we can help you reach your full potential. We offer windsurfing lessons throughout Minnesota including the following lakes-Lake Calhoun, Lake Minnetonka, Gull Lake Chain of Lakes, the Whitefish Chain and Lake Mille Lacs. All windsurfing equipment is provided with your lesson.

    How it works: We ask that you call or email us to set up your first lesson. After we’ve had the opportunity to go over details of the lesson and learn more about your goals you can select the lesson and date or dates you would like below.

    Windsurfing Beginner Lesson 1 Introduction - 2 hrs/each lesson
    Our Price: $125.00

    Your first lesson will be on big boards with small sails. We’ll have you sailing out and back on your very first lesson. We’ll teach you the basics of trimming your sail, steering, and turning around. Your instructor will start with an orientation on the beach before moving into the water. Our stable boards and easy to handle sails along with high quality instructors equal success. All equipment is provided. You just need to bring your sunscreen, bathing suit, and your enthusiasm.
    Beginner Windsurfing Lesson 2 Long Board Sailing - 2 hrs/each lesson
    Our Price: $135.00

    Once you’ve had your intro course and are feeling comfortable, we’ll move on to the next step, which is longboard sailing. This is a great way to learn new maneuvers, such as beach starts, harnessing, tacking, and jibing. Learning these skills on a big board will help you master them on your short board. Practice your jibe on these stable boards, and learning to jibe a short board will be significantly easier.
    Advanced Lesson 2 - 2 hrs/each lesson

    For anyone working on water starts or who has progressed past the intro phase, you will move into the next level of instruction. Our Individualized, private instructions are catered to your specific needs, whether it’s jibing, stance, foot straps, jumping, etc. Each private lesson is 2 hours per session.
    Advanced Windsurfing Lesson 3 - 2 hrs/each lesson

    Mastering water starts with windsurfing is the key to everything. This windsurfing lesson is one you'll need to learn. Once you master this challenging maneuver, you'll wonder why it was so hard to learn. Your lesson will start on the beach, where you will practice segments of the water start and then move into the water where the fun begins. We’ll make sure you fully understand the fundamentals of this move.
    Advanced Windsurfing Lesson 4 Short Board Sailing - 2 hrs/each lesson

    There is more to riding a short board than just jibing. Sailing up wind, using a harness and foot straps, and fine turning your sail are all skills that will help you sail with less effort.     Shorten your learning curve when you complete more jibes. Falling at the end of a run means dealing with getting the sail out of the water, burning calories, and wasting time; important commodities that you could have been spent getting upwind or setting up for your next jibe or wave ride.
