MN SURF CO STAND UP PADDLE BOARD RACE What:
Stand Up Paddle Board race and fun events all weekend. Race entry fee
is $45 and includes race T-Shirt, and post race pizza and tasty
beverages.
Race registration online and day of event. July 20th/Friday evening at The MN Surf Co headquarters until 8pm. July 21st at race site from 5:30am-9:00am.
When:
July 20th and July 21st. Kids races and demo day Friday July 20th from
1pm-5pm. Main event July 21st, first heat starts at 9:30am
Where: Gull Lake, MN. Zorbaz Gull Lake, Nisswa MN is the Start/finish and race headquarters.
Race info:
This will be a weekend to mark in your calendar. Come paddle and play
in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The Brainerd Lakes
Area plays host to the first stop of the MN Surf Co Stand Up Paddle
Board Race series Gull Lake is an amazing body of water and we have
planned a spectacular race course. This course is spectator friendly as
the racers will pass by the spectators area multiple times. We will
listed some great places to stay while spending the weekend. Please let
them know you are here for the SUP event.

SUP RACE
Date: Saturday July 21st, 2012 Times: 5:30am- 9:00am- race day registration Long Course start: 9:30am Short Course start: 9:45am
Rock N Roll Rodeo race starts at noon.
The rock n roll rodeo race is a race against the clock where each
paddler will round a series of buoys in a barrel style paddling
technique. This event will test your speed, agility, and balance while
providing laughs for everyone.
Race Headquarters start and finish. Location: Zorbaz on Gull Lake- 8105 Lost Lake Rd Nisswa, MN 56468
Racers meeting 9am, all racers must attend First wave at 9:30am. All racers will need to have a pfd or life jacket on board their SUP. This is a no drafting race,
meaning once beyond the 500 meter mark you’ll need to allow one board
length in between you and the racer in front of you, and you can not
remain along side someone within 2 meters, you must pass. The no
drafting rules will be enforced.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three racers in each category. There will be awards for mens and womens fields.
Course
info- This is a very fun and spectator friendly course that will take
racers on a route through 3 different portions of the lake, under two
bridges and rounding multiple buoys. Map coming soon.
Short course- 3-4 miles Long Course-6 miles

b) SUP 14 Ft CLASS: Long Course- 6 miles Length - 14’ ft maximum Board Weight - No Weight Restriction. Board Design - No minimum dimensions.
c) SUP 12’6” CLASS: Long Course-6 miles Length - 12’6” ft maximum Board Weight - No Weight Restriction. Board Design - No minimum dimensions.
d) SUP Surfboard CLASS: Short Course- 3-4 miles Length - 12’2” ft maximum Board Weight - No Weight Restriction.
We
will be renting Stand Up Paddle Boards and equipment for racers day of
the event. We highly recommend reserving your board early. Rental
boards will be surf style boards good for the Short Course or long
